2027 German Bundestag IPS Africa Scholarship: Requirements & Application
The 2027 International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) for Africa is currently accepting applications until 15 May 2026. This fully funded four-week programme in Berlin offers young African graduates firsthand experience with the German parliamentary system through placements with Members of the Bundestag.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria as of the start of the scholarship on 1 January 2027:
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of one of the participating countries: Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, or Uganda.
- Age: Under 30 years old.
- Education: Hold a completed university degree.
- Language: Proficient in German (minimum B2 level).
- Interest: Demonstrated strong interest in politics and social/political engagement.

Required Documents
Applications require several documents to be uploaded, primarily in German:
- A hand-signed, two-page motivation letter.
- A CV detailing educational and political background.
- Proof of German language proficiency (B2) via certificate or official form.
- Certified academic degree certificates and a letter of recommendation.
- Copy of passport or ID.
Scholarship Benefits
The fully funded program includes a €700 monthly stipend, free accommodation in Berlin, comprehensive travel coverage, and insurance.
